Majid Freeman came into prominence after the anti-Hindu Leicester violence in the UK in September 2022. He gaslighted Hindus, resorted to multiple fake news to pin the blame of the violence on Hindus. He routinely stalks Hindus during their festivals, makes absurd claims of terrorism and radicalism amongst Hindus when he himself has been associated with terrorists and terrorism like Al Qaeda front, Jabhat Al-Nusra. Counter-terrorism experts have raised concerns how Western mainstream media heavily relied on Majid Freeman for comment on Leicester violence.
On 8th September 2024, Majid Freeman has been sentenced to 22 weeks imprisonment for encouraging a “Charlie Hebdo-style” on Hindus. UK’s Financial Times reported that Freeman has been charged for a “series of social media posts that allegedly glorified violence.”
Majid Feeman is known to have links with charities that were fronts of known and sometimes proscribed terrorist organisations. British journalist Andrew Gilligan has unearthed evidence of Freeman’s involvement with Aid4Syria whose parent charity, Al Fatiha Global was under investigation by UK Charity Commission for “links [with] individuals purportedly involved in supporting armed and other inappropriate activities in Syria.
Freeman is known to have been involved with Turkish charity IHH- Humanitarian Relief Foundation. According to non-profit Nordic Research Monitoring Network also known as Nordic Monitor, IHH forged an alliance with India’s proscribed terrorist organisation Popular Front of India (PFI). PFI had plans to Islamise India by 2047 and establish an Islamic rule.
In addition to to having links with known terror groups, Freeman is also known to have eulogised terrorists. For example in a X (formerly Twitter) post 2015 Majid Freeman posted prayers for a Dutch jihadi fighter, Ifthekar Jaman. He also routinely calls for release of Pakistani doctor turned terrorist Aafia Siddiqui who is serving life sentence in an American prison for being associated with Al Qaeda. During the memorial service of his co-worker, Alan Herring, killed by ISIL (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant), Majid Freeman justified the existence of ISIL, promoted ideology of Al Qaeda and expressed sympathy for Syrian jihadists.
Majid Freeman actually believes 9/11 NYC bombings and 7/7 London bombings were false flag operations by US and UK government to falsely implicate the Muslim community. He uses ‘false flag’ operations even with respect to Muslims in India caught butchering cows for beef while pinning the blame on Hindu groups.
Some Western legacy media and Arab news portals complicit with Islamists often terms Freeman as called ‘community leader‘,’community activist‘ ‘community worker‘ ‘Muslim activist‘ and ‘aid worker‘, ‘a volunteer‘ despite his affinity to spread news during Leicester violence. He was also quoted in the anti-Hindu, American propaganda news portal, The Wire where he is said of Hindus “They were coming past our mosques, taunting the community and physically beating people up randomly”. The incident was later debunked by Leicester Police.
UK police themselves debunked Freeman’s fake news which further inflamed an already vitiated atmosphere in Leicester. He accused Hindu boys of abducting Muslims school girls, a Muslim boy was stopped and bullied by Hindus, a mosque was burned down by Hindus and that Hindus were roaming the streets of Leicester with iron poles. All those incidents were proven false by Leicester police. Incidentally, it was Muslims who were convicted for carrying weapons and disorderly behaviour. Despite ample evidence of spreading fake news that led to a riotous situation, till date Leicester police have taken no action against him.
Despite Majid Freeman’s cry of non-existent ‘Hindutva’ violence it was a Hindu temple flag that was removed by Muslims and later burned. The video of the burning went viral on social media platforms.wqqqw In reply to this event, Freeman said “They let Hindu mobs march past a mosque & provoke Muslims on the streets this afternoon. The Hindu mobs broke the peace once again. What you see now is the Muslim community standing up for themselves.”

Astonishingly, Mayor of Leicester, Sir Peter Soulsby, further blamed Hindus from the subcontinent for violence in Leicester after meeting Majid Freeman even though investigations were on going at that time. Despite repeated calls by the rest of the community in Leicester for being partial towards Muslims, the Mayor refused to step-down. On November 2022, the Mayor announced a enquiry into Leicester violence with Dr.Chris Allen leading the team. Later, it was revealed Dr.Allen had previously worked with Muslims and blamed Hindus for the violence in his piece “Leicester’s unrest is a problem for the whole city, not just Hindu and Muslim communities“. After social media outrage, Dr.Allen stepped down and the panel disbanded.
In 2020, before COVID lockdown, Majid Freeman participated in anti-CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act) protests in Leicester. CAA law was brought in to expedite citizenship process for Hindus, Sikhs, Parsis and Christians who are persecuted for following their religion in Islamic countries of Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. He spouted and peddled the same fake news of the Western mainstream media and Human rights groups like Human Rights Watch that Muslims are being “disenfranchised” in India resulting in a “genocide” 250 Muslims.
Of-late Majid Freeman has taken to stalking Hindus during their festivals and trying to create a ruckus by deliberately spreading fake news with the intention to incite communal riots. Insight UK brought out pictures of Majid Freeman Stalking Hindus during the festival of Janamashtami.
During 2023 Janamashtami celebrations in Leicester, Majid Freeman uploaded a video on X (formerly Twitter) and said “Far-right Hindu nationalist ‘Bajrang Dal’ flag being waved in Spinney Hill park in #Leicester during a Hindu celebration. Why are such flags being waved at local hindu celebrations? #leicestpolice officers present have googled it & coinfirmed it’s the same flag. #Hindutva”. He then posted another video where he says “so who is radicalising the Hindu community in Leicester?”. Point to note here the flag that was waved during the celebrations was a Hindu temple flag with the face of Bhagwan Hanuman and is not a Bajrang Dal flag as claimed by Majid Freeman. Also, Bajrang Dal is not a proscribed terror group in the UK or in any other part of the world.
In the case of Qatar sentencing eight Indian retired naval personnel currently lodged in Qatar jail on the allegations of spying for Israel, Majid Freeman celebrated the verdict of Qatari court with the word “Alhamdulillah” meaning praise be to God.
In 2023 October, Majid Freeman defended and justified Hamas terror attack on Jews calling it “right to defend itself just like Ukraine does”. He even celebrated the murder, rape and kidnapping of Jews with “Alhamdulillah Thumma alhamdulillah Allahu Akbar!” Alhamdulillah in Arabic means praise be to God.
During football World Cup in Qatar 2022, Majid Freeman along with other Islamists “claimed that 500+ people have embraced Islam recently.” though there were no media reports of conversion.
Majid Freeman has many times ridiculed democracy calling it a ‘farce’ and ‘hypocrisy’ but is open to Islamic law – Sharia despite living in a democratric and free country of United Kingdom.
